Sun shining. Last night OtherDarren and I drank brews, shot the shit, and built up a Pegoretti with silver Campagnolo. I have the best wife in the world. I've got grease under my fingernails. Arrow moccasins.
Leaving work early today to go watch some basketball and get on the bike. Then I plan to enjoy a beautiful weekend outside on the bike before snow returns next week.
36° and sunny. WooHooo! I can blow snow in short sleeves before the cold returns. But I'll be skiing with friends tomorrow, so all is good.
the grump thread always makes me feel better about my life.
Looks like my brother's living situation is settled now, he isn't going to have to live alone much longer. Been a lot of stress for the last month worrying about him.
I'm on my way from brews with velobran to Mexican food with the wife. Good end to the week.
Even though pretty much everything for the Boston Marathon is available via the web, I really love getting stuff via snail mail. Sort of makes it officially official. The Welcome packet arrived yesterday. Yay!
I got up at 6.
I pulled on a bunch of athletic wear.
I rode my bike until 8.
GO!
I just picked up a Case of 2007 Ridge York Zinfandel for two thirds of the 2008 prices, which is about 50% of today's price. The wine is drinking much better now that its release in 2008 and paired well with a grilled lamb chop.
life is too short to drink bad wine....

Taking the afternoon off to watch my college nephew play baseball. He's on the bump at 1:00, so much better than work.
I'm not at work today. Of course I work 9 hour days to be able to have alternating Fridays off, and it's pissing rain out, but I'm not chained to my desk.
And I'm going to pick up a Park double-sided work stand later today.

son is potty trained. That means hiking with the fella this weekend which is my absolutely favorite thing to do. Plus got into French Laundry for our anniversary dinner this morning.
Some shit got screwed up for work. I need to meet a co-worker on Sunday to collect test equipment. He lives in NoVA. We're meeting in Gettysburg. How is this not a grump? Because I get to expense a ride in Michaux State Forest, that's why.
I got an official systems engineering plan from one of the "big" contractors for our project in the Philippines...with "Philipenis" in the title.
Insubordinate. And Churlish.
The most awesome wife in the world got into the NYC marathon.
Seen while walking into work this morning:
Fuji CX bike, platform pedals, low-top vans, knee-high ski socks with crazy pattern, bib shorts, adidad windbreaker, Louie Garneau full on aero helmet.
Balleur.
Dog sitting for my brother tonight, so tomorrow morning will bring both pups to the beach and let them go wild.
It might hit 50F on Sunday, and I have nothing planned but minor household chores.
my name is Matt
Thinking of hiking the John Muir trail. And I wasn't the one laid off today. And... this video finally let me make sense of where I work. Guess which one I am. Heh.
