The Barber design might be ideal then for the low mass Mazda on the track, yet mx5 Cup/CTCSST rules don't seem to mandate this style though the SB Challenge runs during the same race as Cup cars. Anyway good info.

Christian needs to do a vsalon rally/track/autotest school for us unwashed.

Do you happen to have any pictures of that 914 in the background? I know it was lurking in one of your previous posts and I've always had soft spot in my heart for those goofballs. A long time ago at the Concours in Cincinnati someone had a PERFECT 914 with a twin spark engine and it was my favorite car that year.

914-6 IMSA GTU. This was in tech at Indy a few weeks back at an SVRA event.

I once drove a Kremer 935 K3 for four or five laps at Anderstorp. Went slowly and made a fool of myself generally, but it's one of the few experiences in my life I'd never ever trade away.

The big one is the exhaust, the smaller is for the waste gate.

Those are wheels we make in house. We offer them in "bolt on" (like the green car) and Center knock off. For the center knock off, we have hub adapter kits that can bolt on to a stock 911 or 930 hub. We also make an actual center knock off hub.

there was a hint of a 56' forest green 356 with 7k original KMs (yep, not miles), that he was going to purchase, no steal, from a private collection. i think that deal went sideways.

yeah, we're Porsche people- mom had a Cayenne S and GTS as well. I really want a Macan, but I am going to wait a few years for a used one as the price will probably drop like the proverbial rock.

I know a couple guys, both of whom had early versions of the Cayenne Turbo and both of whom had said never again re: "exotic SUV". I never got into details with either as this type of vehicle is so far out of my realm of possibility or interest, but the reliability and maintenance were often the topic of conversation. Since then, both have gone to Land Rover and BMW for their SUV's.

Just curious, I suppose, about your lust for the Macan. Is the draw because you're a porsche guy through and through or is it something more?

im not sure what the draw is. i've been in the market now for a while and it's the only thing that's interesting to me on the SUV side at the moment. my WRX isnt exactly a good family car, so that's why the look at smaller SUVs.

My understanding is that many Cayenne Turbo engine repairs require engine removal. But a Land Rover instead? I hear the X5 gets dicey too.
