Out of many beautiful and luxurious choices, the quality of all of which far exceeded any of our dreams when embarking upon this joint watch purchase, she decided that the most satisfactory of these splendiferous creations was an Omega Constellation ladies quartz that is tastefully (while still being luxuriously) bejewelled.

Hey guys, I forgot that my Dad has actually bequeathed me a fine vintage Swiss timepiece. Here's a pic:

Worlds last remaining NOS 6309 on the block! That's gotta be worth something - whoever buys it better leave it just like it is (on the shelf!).

Love that Seiko Jason!
Even if you're not interested in mechanical watches (and if so, why are you reading this thread?) is fascinating. The craftsmanship and level of detail are simply amazing.

Holy cow, thanks for posting. I wonder how much handwork is used to make/assemble your standard Rolex/Omega automatic compared to this. That, and I wonder how many hours a day one of these craftsmen can keep the focus to do this work.

Not as much as you'd think. It's more about engineering and precision with attention to detail. But for the Patek, you'd be amazed, and the price reflects it. I once had the opportunity to watch a dial-maker Guilloche a dial. Amazing focus.
And for something on the complete opposite end of the spectrum, this thing is fun.
That Swatch is more in my range, what model is it?

Wow, that was unbelievable. The video about Dufour that e-Richie linked to a while back was very cool, too:
and while this video shows the process involved in maintenance of a Breitling (and not the manufacture), I still thought it was cool:
Service - Breitling - Instruments for Professionals
and a great video about polishing to restore a used watch:
