Their Heat-Tech thermals are great for East Coast winters.
I also found that a sized-down Uniqlo Ultra-Light Down jacket fits perfectly beneath my Rapha City Rain jacket. Versatile combo.

Re: Winter coat recommendation needed
This is what I've worn as my only winter coat for the last four years or so. I think I might have bought mine when it was on sale for even less. Compared with the pea coats most of my friends have worn, it's a little bit heavier and avoids feeling cheap.

Made the mistake of clicking on this thread and now have two items from Nau on their way to my doorstep. Fingers cross on fit--worst thing about buying stuff online is fit roulette..

Parka-length? All-weather? Tough-as-nails-but-stylish-enough-for-town? A Filson Mackinaw. Done! Here's one style...there are others. Warning; The double-macs are almost too hot except in the very cold or for extended times outdoors, (days, weeks, etc..) in very cold/wet conditions.

Something longer? A nice loden overcoat in the classic Austrian style. Get a good one...not a knockoff.
