So get crackin Mr. Steve, you gots a years worth of work to do and it ain't even Feb yet. I love your way of doing business. Know what you can do, take orders and knock them out. Best of health, keep up the good blog, and do build a few frames this year my friend. And of course, Slay a few trout along the way.
Thanks!
I figure it's best for everyone, and this is year three of the ordering cycle, and it's working.
My accident and current condition leave me no room for over promising, and thusly I do my best not to.
Things are good, but the two week order cycle is quite chaotic - I went Dec 30th to Jan 20th with one day off, now I'm enjoying three in a row!
Going to Baja to pet whales for 11 days off in Feb/March, family reunion in July and Baja for two weeks in Oct, build bikes solid in-between, and that is my 2015 in a nutshell!
When you coming to visit?

Sir Dr. Garro esq.,
You seem open to the topic, but in my Internets stalking of you haven't seen too much discussion on the topic. Maybe deserving of a thread outside of your smoked out, but we have you tree'd here so I'll power through a potentially offensive stupid question.
Wheelchairs and Handcycles.
Early in life I found myself seeking out new and interesting ways to get concussions or break bones as a Colorado young'n in the 80s, via skiing/hiking/biking beyond my abilities. Now in reterospect, I recall being drawn to the various setups fabricated for physically disabled folks so they could join in the no helmet concussion seeking awesomeness. In my slightly later developing years of cycling nerdery, I started noticing wheelchairs. These early developmental bike shop years involved dating Ladies with better jobs than I (mostly Nurses, or Lifeguards going to school for Nursing or MD) and I found out second hand what some of these basic nasty wheelchairs cost the end user. Fast forward a *few* years to the present, and I still check out wheelchairs. And in my perception not much has changed. I feel like if I had to use a wheelchair it would be the awesomest I could make it at all times given resources available. And that there's a market, albeit relatively small, for custom chairs/parts. Admittedly that's a potentially hugely ignorant theoretical thought compared to someone living with the reality of needing a chair.
So, to the potentiality offensive questions:
Do you not view your chairs / handcycle the same way as the frames you build for others?
Is it a case of the cobbler's kids have no shoes?
Could you do better than the chair/handcycle you use?
With a paid few weeks of R&D could you improve upon your daily chair or the handcycle?
This only comes up as I've recommended a few folks to check out this Garro guy and One Off for inspiration in the last few weeks.

No Worries - that's a great question.
And to answer you, I have to say that there is just as much of a cutting edge of chairs as there is for bikes - most people just aren't on the bandwidth to see it……..my friend Jake at Re-Active is making amazing hand cycles, as is JR (I can't say his name, he is Polish) as well as Box wheelchairs……..
My ultralite daily is a Ti-Lite - it's a great, great chair.
Ti is the way to go for chairs, no rust - it's not a bike, it gets dragged, thrown, spilled, scratched, dinged.
Al ones bust quicker.
A daily runs about 5K
If I was to start building hand cycles or chairs it would be starting out all over again in life - it's like the average Sumguy out there on a bike - you may spend a lifetime on one, but it still doesn't qualify you to make one.
You know the movie Avatar?
The take on the cripple boards went like this:
Review:
"25th century: men have reached space. No major improvement in wheelchairs"
As a group, we don't have much money, hence we won't get anything major.
It's a hard reality that right now we have the technology to make exoskeletons for every cripple out there, yet we choose not to, focusing instead on creating the perfect (insert item here disposable income allows) that has a large affluent following.
Here is some cool stuff at the forefront:
Custom Wheelchairs by BOX
ReActive Adaptations | Offroad Handcycles – Hand Made in Colorado
SPORT ON Adaptive Equipment
Great question - please reply, a discussion that needs to be had, thanks!
I'll check back later.

Great pics. How close did you get to the whale? Looks awfully close there from the pics. Don't know if those were zoom shots.
