    Thanks!

Yes, I found some very similar modals while looking at their Japanese vendors site. Sort of my version of an old RedWing Sky Trooper. I've been wearing them daily if it's under 90* and have been very happy so far. They are breaking in well and the custom fit is solid.

    I'm looking for some ideas:

My old Timberlands that I used to use for hiking but which I demoted to "wear around the house for yard work stuff" are about to fall apart. I'm going to try to glue them back together (they are glued, not stitched) but in case that fails, what would you recommend for landscaping / weed whacking type jobs? My house is surrounded by woods and lots of the maintenance involves keeping them at bay, not walking behind a mower, since I don't have a lawn or a mower. I have a pair of Danner Mtn Lights for hiking and winter walking, but I don't want to use them for nasty work.

I don't need anything that's super water-proof or has a steel toe, just decent but not $$$ for basic messy tromping around the brush yard work.

    TIA

    I use RedWing Pecos.
    Product Detail
I've probably been using my current Pecos for 8 years for yard work and county dump runs. They are unscathed.

Anybody interested in a used, good condition, pair of Alden Indy boots in Chromexcel. Size 9 on the Trubalance last, so closer to a 9.5. Thinking $165 shipped.

I was able to stack some coupons and got these for $182. If anyone is an 8.5 and wants them, let me know before I return them. Happy to pass along the deal (plus shipping). Great boots, but my low volume 9 is just a touch long for these.

My feet are always cold. Seriously, like ridiculously cold. I got a pair of Blondo boots that are shearling lined.

And for days a when a normal person would wear a pair of vans I got these Olukai shoes which might quite possibly be the most comfortable shoe I have ever owned. Wool lined too.

I only need to dress business casual for Colorado, so this is dressed up footwear.

My sister works for Shopbop / East Dane. They are an Amazon subsidiary that sells fancypants clothing / shoes, etc. She was able to get me an excellent deal on these Wolverine 1000 Mile Evans boots. I took the picture a couple of months ago after they arrived. Pretty comfy after about 1/2 a day.

Oh, and they're pictured with dinosaurs because I have a 2 year old.

From what I gathered it is shorts, chaco's and a fleece vest, all year, no matter how much snow!

The only accommodation for winter is wool socks.

I had been looking at both of these boots but just wasn't totally sold on either for different reasons. I recently came across the Frye Roland in Black, so far I like them the best. Better looks, fit and made just as well in my opinion, rubber sole, which is what I prefer for comfort, but still can look dressy. Take a look FRYE | Roland Lace Up - Black

What twit decided leather would be an appropriate boot material sole on such an expensive pair as Wolverine 1000miles?
The amount of rock embedded in my soles makes it sound like I'm constantly walking down a gravel walkway.
I love the boots otherwise, but damn there's no way these soles will last very long.
