I saw that Steven Shand requested my presence in another thread in regards to an old article written by Keith Bontrager. The article was published in the now long gone Bike Tech Newsletter. I was fortunate to score a full set on ebay a few years ago, and have scanned a few of the volumes

Just wondering, how many volumes of Bike Tech were ultimately published?

I've downloaded a few s of them here and there over the years, but it would be great to have them all in one place. From the ones that I have had the chance to look through, they seem to be a great reference source.

Can I advocate for the establishment of a technical library in PDF form, perhaps attached to "The Knowledge"?

The articles Truls has posted should be in it for starters, I can suggest a few others eg the Meijaard group on dynamics and contribute copies of some eg. Champoux on vibrations.

Good to hear that you enjoy them, Alistair. There's a fair amount of interesting articles in them. Eight volumes where published. I have them all (I think). Let me see if I can find time during the next few days to scan a volume or two.

Would it be just as useful to create a permenant sticky thread where these things go or do you require a sub-forum?

I think a sticky would work, maybe even just moving this thread into "the knowledge", then people can add to it as needed. Is there any way to upload PDFs to the forum server so they are easily accessible?

Lets start a new thread in the knowleded, make it sticky and suggest a title perhaps "framebuilder tech documents". I believe the forum currently allows .pdf uploads up to xxxx megabytes.

Thanks for doing this Truls. My BART trip into SF is so much more pleasurable when I can read something light enough to not lose track of the stops, but interesting enough that I don't notice the weirdos.

Hi guys,

Flipped through the issues I got now, and it seems like I'm missing issue #2 from 1986 (Volume 5) and the October 1987 issue. Weird, because I am pretty sure I had a full set. I'll rummage around a wee bit later, but at this point these are missing. So, if any of you old geezers have these around, It would be ace if you could do a scan.

I'll try to get the ones I do have from '86 done later tonight.
