Re: Porsche
It's about time. We were having Porsche withdrawal.
On a local note. Since we haven't had winter yet here in the Mid-Atlantic there is no salt on the roads. That means the garage queen is still getting run to breakfast on Sunday's. Life is good. Damn good.

Sean,
Do you ever get something in to work on and just say " this is too far gone" ?

Re: Porsche
Mark where are you located approximately?
Sean, it just hit me you are the rarest of breed who can still work with lead. Holy cow.

All the time, but in most cases, the customer has some sort of attachment to the vehicle. Also the cost of a decent tub is getting astronomical....especially the pre-74 tubs.
@ TT - I don't really mess with the lead, only enough to fix factory lead spots. For the most part, I'm pretty bad at it and make nothing more than a mess on the shop floor haha

Well that's not out of the question. Always looking for excuses to drive and ride bikes.

Re: Porsche
C'mon up. We'll arrange a ride in the spring. Road, dirt, gravel, MUT.... I'm 30 minutes by bike from where Hell of Hunterdon starts. Bunch of VS guys locally and we need an excuse to gather.

I make my living as a Project Superintendent specializing in hospital construction and renovation. Every now and then I need to drive through the M.D.'s parking. Saw these two side by side yesterday. As I was taking the pic the owner of the one on the right walked up and we talked for a bit. I asked if it made him smile and he said "Everyday"

Re: Porsche
Love me some wide body 911! I tried to convince my wife to get BBGTBK for her plate on her car but she laughed and said #@#% no.
I consider the C4S to be the smartest 911 for a DD..

Re: Porsche
So, I'm pretty stoked... This should be coming into the shop in a few weeks.

Awesome. If that comes to fruition, please share some shots along the way? Whats the story on the car?

I certainly will. We are a ways from working on it, but once work starts, I'll document it. From what I know of, the chassis is a reproduction but the vast majority of parts and panels are real factory 962 pieces. The entire front end is factory and the rear end is a mix of factory 962 and 996 cup suspension. It's set up right now with 996 cup center knock offs. It is coming with an inverted 930 gearbox and a 3.2 block. From what I understand, our customer wants a twin turbo 3.0 or 3.2 with a laydown fan. When the project is complete, he'll vintage race it with SVRA and other West coast groups.

Can I come and work in your shop?
I just need to be there until the Porsche is finished.
