    Default Paragon Machine Works Thread

I'd like to start a thread where people can post their wish list for Paragon items. Hopefully Mark will be able to gauge the demand and make more cool stuff we want.

    Here's a few to start:
    1. A lighter 1.5 to 1.125" steerer for road a cross applications.
    2. A lighter stem handlebar clamp back with through bolt holes and less material.
    3. Tube block for 28x20 fork blade profile.

The DS1001 in steel, not just stainless.

And a +1 on the 28x20 tube block.

a few aluminum options for dropouts in 7005 and the new chris king bottom bracket standard in 7005.

There are no large production 7005 drops that have quality like theirs, and the ones that are aren't logical to find unless you know where to look.

Lighter headtubes. Love the style and ease of use, but the weight could use some improvement.

Paragon is awesome. Can't complain at all about the current selection.

Another one for the tube blocks.

Also, this may be too niche, but plug-in dropouts like their DR2019 but with a smaller diameter plug and eyelets that are more usable (their own rack tabs don't fit them...). I get that Bentley has basically the same thing but with more substantial eyelets, but the plug is still fairly large...(http://bentleycomponents.co.uk/shop_20853.html).

It is called T47 and it is not the new Chris King standard. There is intentions to have a 7005 T47. The tubing needed to make said product does exist. The current desire is to have them supplied unthreaded and the builder will make the threads after it is fabricated.

I am happy to be a liaison between the voices and Mark as he is not here and won't be here.

The main issue with the oval tube block I see is there is too many variations. This is where a V block is used. I will tell him however.

Steel sliders and rockers won't work. The system relies on bearing surfaces that are not going to handle the build up of paint or powder.

I'm super happy with the products they offer but I'd love to see 1.375" x .035 or .032 tubes come back

I had a long conversation on that one. Not coming back unfortunately. My centerless grinder appears to be the best way for me to get high quality .035" and .032" for now!

I suppose I could get my own lathe and lighten them up myself. :)

Well, I'm building up a couple frames using the similar offering from Nova, but I like the flange set-up on the D1001 better. I suppose I could supply up with some Fillet Pro and go to town with the stainless...

Similar being the key word here. Bearing surfaces with tight tolerance don't want paint/powder.

Stainless rack tab version of MS2008, Rebecca and Mark have indicated to me they would do these, can't wait to see them. I'm in for 20 of them.

I'll second this. If you have a steel dropout it can't be painted inside the slot and then it will rust. The material cost to do them out of stainless will offset the increased labor to do them out of steel and mask the paint. If you painted the entire dropout it would be a disaster!

How about some small V-blocks with one of the halves having a radiused back? That way one could grab a tapered tube with shenanigans like this.
