I'm almost done with my 73 RS backdate. Spent yesterday dumping this puppy on the ground.

About done with this polished turd, we've been all hands on deck getting her ready for the Monterey Historics. Should be a quick one... The 3.3 turbo motor is set up very conservative and is still pushing 550 hp with only .9 bar.IMG_3653.jpgIMG_3654.jpg

Well that would suck; you buy a "look at me yellow" car and then all these other guys show up and confuse your audience..

Well, our 930 project finished and over the last two weekends it raced at the Monterey Historics (along with our IMSA 914-6). Started with this:

and some shots of the cars at Laguna:

On to the next 2 cars.. We have a client who purchased this Euro 911 with some rally history across the pond and is looking to have us put it back to RSR spec. I was told it had some rust and might need a new pan. Sooooo we started tearing into it.

    What we started with:
    Attachment 95819Attachment 95820

    Some of what we found:
    Attachment 95821Attachment 95822Attachment 95823Attachment 95824Attachment 95825Attachment 95826Attachment 95827Attachment 95828Attachment 95829Attachment 95830Attachment 95831Attachment 95832Attachment 95833Attachment 95834

This was a non-sunroof car...that they sunroofed....then un-sunroofed. The roof weighs 47 lbs and has probably a gallon of bondo spread with some areas 12mm deep. Both inner and outer rockers are swiss cheese and the rear fenders are basically garbage from the door jamb back. The previous owners built up poor weld beads and spread bondo up to that bead on both sides. There will be lots of work on this puppy once it gets back from media blasting. We did a rough rear end fit with the weight of the motor in and pulled a couple pieces of body work from molds.

Picture dump of the Euro 75 911. Lots of rust, lots of really bad repairs. So far I've found roof siding, house plaster, roofing nails/drywall screws, roofing tar, expanding foam, and a t-shirt that was stuffed inside a rotted out rocker.

There ought to be a law...said the guy who used chicken wire and bondo to make my 62' Nova fenders legal. I was 18, looks like the previous owner was 18.

Do you ever get into one of these projects and decide to give up or is everything eventually fixable with enough time, money and effort?

I'm going to hug my 911 when I get home and promise to never let *that* happen to her.

Being that this is just an every day 1975 tub, this car would have been a great candidate to scrap and start fresh, however it has race history in Europe... So we just have to roll with it.

@TT you'd be amazed at the weird shit I've seen done to these cars...
