I kinda want my old WRX wagon back, but with an updated interior. Anything new or interesting out there? I feel like manual will be the sticking point since it's disappearing from car lineups pretty rapidly.

The 2016 WRX and STi have a much improved interior from prior models.

I'm interested in getting a new car. Maybe selling my FJ or maybe keeping it and leasing a new daily driver. Here's what I want. Reasonably nice, manual transmission, goes like stink, wagon (or roomy hatch)...and no, I can't get an E63 AMG. I kinda want my old WRX wagon back, but with an updated interior. Golf R will have the nicest interior new with a stick but is on the small size, focus ST is another option to look at. I am driving a 325xi wagon (e91) after a similar search, great handling, great interior, decent room but not super fast and hard to find, I bought with low miles and hope I can get at least 5 years before the repair bills get out of hand.

Manual wagons are all gone from the new market other than a golf which is not sporty so you stuck with a smaller hatch or a sedan.

You're right. I mistyped. Our mutual neighbor had a crazy nice fully restored FJ55 when I lived in Chicago. Then my brother bought the 60 after I left, and have only seen it once.
