Re: New Kitchens / Remodels
I have finally finished my parts ( refinishing the table and baseboards, painting the chairs, etc) so officially the kitchen and family room are done.

Really nice TMB!
What's that green in the kitchen? Having recently spent a weekend picking paints, it looks familiar.

Re: New Kitchens / Remodels
It is a Behr paint and if I remember rightly it is called "Cucumber".
I can check that tonight when I get home but I remember thinking when I saw it that it looks nothing like any cucumber I've ever seen. of course my wife rolled her eyes at me and picked that colour.

Nah, it's not what I thought it was. We're going with Benjamin Moore.
I thought it might be Guildford Green:

We're using that for our living room, dining room and powder room, with a bit of this for an accent:

The kitchen (and a lot of other rooms) will be this taupe:

The master bedroom suite:

The second bedroom and second bath:

Color is fun!

Apologies, the paint is NOT Behr. It is Benjamin Moore. As if my bride would let me use Behr paint inside the house.

Hey, I wasn't going to say anything...
BM is the only paint our painter uses. Don't even mention that Home Depot stuff to him!
My wife & I spent a solid Sunday going through hundreds of paint chips, room by room. It was exhausting, but also really satisfying. My wife paints watercolors, and is really into all the color theory. Me? I just want these horrible white walls out of my life.

I don't see electrical outlets in the island base. Velly handy for this and that.

There's going to be a couple at the 'window end' of the peninsula. But you make an interesting point.

Not just handy, required.
Not too late to get those added.

Doors & knobs on, lots of work across the room on the pass-thru shelves, staircase and closet. The vent hood was in my GC's hands as I left for work today...
Power on the peninsula? Yeah. There will be at least two outlets at the 'base' under the window. That's sufficient. And code may also require another set, which we hope can be put on the kickboard at the base of the peninsula.

Toe kick is what I was most interested in boss.
Cool. LOVE watching the progress and can't wait to visit and do some cooking-boozing.

From your lips to God's ears, TT.
The GC removed the cardboard from the floor yesterday (so he can get at the floors that need to be stained...) and the first floor suddenly looked less like a construction site. If everything keeps rolling smoothly we could have paint & the countertops in a little over a week, and the backsplash & finishing work in a little more than two.
You know I'll keep you posted!

Fantastic New bubba. FWIIW the best stuff we've found for keeping Granite surfaces clean is the Multi-Purpose surface cleaner from Trader Joe's and a microfiber towel. Perfect for stone and good enough for stainless.

We're getting manufactured quartz, not granite.

"Simply wash with a soft cotton cloth and warm water, and mild soap if desired."

Our kitchen has quartz counters and we are very happy with it...
