Some good karma
Found 2 stranded kittens on the bike commute home yesterday. They both seemed to have bad eye infections and were hungry and shivering. One was skittish but the other climbed onto my shoe and refused to move. I waited for a while and no mother showed up. Ended up calling my wife who came and took them to a local shelter whom we trust.
We would have brought them home, but we already have an older indoor cat with a questionable immune system, plus these little critters were probably only ~4 weeks old and needed some professional medical care. Hoping they find their way in the world!

Attaboy. See a problem, do something about it. I like you.

My resident vet (my wife) says good call on not introducing them to your kitty.
Excellent work.

Aw, that little guy on your shoe is saying, "please helps us." Hope they make it to a nice home.

Yeah he/she was very scared but I guess kind of knew that I wasn't there to harm them.
An update: I just got off the phone with the shelter. The kittens are, as of yesterday, with a foster home that specializes in young cats. It's good we scooped them up as they probably wouldn't have made it much longer out by themselves. They're underage, have some health issues and are a little underweight but the folks at the shelter think they'll make it.
