Very much the sculptor carving away the marble to reveal the figure within.

Also I am beyond taken with that socketed seat tube lug. Filing that away for future build reference...

    Thanks.
The socket seat stay seat lug is not a new idea,or my idea, it has been done before for at least 30 years. I have used them 20 years ago with OS tube sizes and 14mm seat stays.
My blend of those lugs from years ago with today's bigger tube sizes and what I desire for my own production here.

My dropouts have the M5 eyelets cast in. For road bikes that do not need the eyelets one cuts them off. The shape and blend are filed in after the chainstays are brazed to the dropouts. It is too cosly for me to have new tools made for drops without eyelets so these drops can with or without eyelets via the hacksaw and 10 minutes with the file

You've inspired me to cut a set today.

Work on the dropouts continues on a Monday

Die grinder, files then the sanding begins

120, 320, 800 and finally 1500 grit under balsa wood sticks. Sanding is the time consuming part of the process and it gives one plenty of time for contemplation about the world whilst listening to the radio

Polishing takes a few minutes and reveals if the sanding is done correctly

Wayne's fork blades are ready for the crown

The head tube is going to get some Llewellyn treatment, I am using a Moore and Wright dividers I got from High School metal work in 1978. Still going strong.

Llewellyn Custom Bicycles head logo is cut by light amplification by stimulated emission of radiation. I then get the Jeweler's files out and dress it up and then press to fit snug to the head tube

I got this file in 1987
Lovely lathe file and still used just about every day. The steel was a good brew back then.

Stainless steel, delicate shorelines requires a lot more time and care in preparation for the cook up.

Default Wayne's Llewellyn Lucentezza Cadenzia frame set

Single point turning the crown race seat to 30.02mm is the only way to go with a stainless steel fork crown. Have I said lately that a lathe is " a beautiful thing" ?

spot on for the crown race fit

Careful filing of the surface is the first step. New and sharp file are a must for this.

    120 then 320 grit

1500 grit under the balsa wood sticks. The sanding takes the time, if done well the polish will be quick and reveal the Lucentezza.
