Jim, that makes a ton of sense. 1 1/2 lb roast is very compelling.

Mr.Bagadonuts, you're speaking my language. Very cool rig.

I dig the low cost and the lab equipment look. If nothing else, there's something very satisfying about putting something together yourself.

We're at the family camp with no car, a cheap burr grinder, a French press and 6 lbs of Kicking Horse (Canadian roaster), and you guys are making me crazy!

We are here to enable you brother. Heck, with a little Canuk ingenuity it is a proven fact that here you can build a awesome roaster for bubkes.

What's the shelf life of green beans? (aka if you buy a big bag, will it go bad before you roast all of it;-)

If you keep it in a dry cool area, should last a long long time.

Mark your calendar for the next exchange October 4. That gives lots of time to decide on a bean to roast.

Check this out. Credit to Jim. I Listened for the first sign of cracking, turned the heat elements off and maintained rotation for one min. than heat on for three more and done. I did not get into second crack. I'm expecting good things >>>

Guys, post this to your favorite coffee forums and pals who roast. Our goal should be to grow this group.
    This is what I posted at homeroasters.org >> https://forum.homeroasters.org/forum...hp?forum_id=18

    Thoughts?

VSalon is my coffee forum! And my entomology forum, and, and, and...

I think there are a few non-roasting coffee nerds who would get a kick out of salonista roasted coffee.

I'm on board with that. Great way to get the roasts out there.

Pulled a shot of the new batch today. Gotta say, great shot. Very smooth, could taste a bit of caramel. Great aftertaste and great buzz.

You are getting this dialed Josh. Great roast !

Now that we've huddled for a few weeks to get our beans in a groove, so to speak. The VSalon Coffee Exchange sub-forum is live.
