Forgive me if there is already a discussion on this.
I've always loved hats and sported a few hand me down fedoras over the years. We don't have many mens wear options in this neck of the woods, but a recent trip to Boston helped me tap back in.
It's summer, so I started with a fairly classic paper Trilby from Goorin Bros in Cambridge.
The other day my shop lost power (they just got it back on today), so I did a little walk about in the Victorian county seat and went antiquing. Scored a sweet cane and this vintage Philadelphia Stetson "Lightweight" Bowler. It is stamped with the local stores name, so I may be able to track down it's date, but Stetson closed the Philly plant in 71', so it's at least 46. The leather and felt are both in fantastic shape.
As I mentioned, my power has been out, so I've had some time to cruise the internet. I made a low ball offer and picked up this lovely Resistol fedora. NIB, beaver and a lovely shade of green tinted brown. Very similar to a hat my grandfather had. This will be great for autumn woods walking. Resistol stopped fedora production in 1968.
