they use a drop stitch technology that allows 10psi, much higher than duckie type boats. It paddles almost like a hard shell and folds into a backpack that's checkable on an airplane if you're careful with the weight.
They make a nice single. The seats are ok for me, wife needs an extra pad.
Time to bump this. Last weekend with the Cub Scouts and today, wetting a line for 10 minutes while I was exercising my dog. She ran around getting muddy and chasing chipmunks and I pulled up a LMB.
for some reason this has only come together now. partly i have the right bike now, partly, its steelhead season. today i biked to a steelhead run and then landed a steelhead. it was fuckin awesome

Willamette springer, hatchery fish, sellwood area. I get to fish with the infamous sultan of sellwood. He has 21 fish in his boat thus far this season.
Great lookin fish
I got this Wild steelhead buck in my back yard this feb. I mean literally in my back yard 45 steps off my back porch. hand-tied, swung fly the old way, no net, total chaos.

its between 33 and 34 inches and wild as they get. its not numbers, but the adventure and method that impress me.
A couple weeks ago, I saw trout in the stream on our property. Today they were still there. Water is high but clear melt water a handful of degrees away from ice. They look like rainbows, only about 8" - bait size for Zillox's steelhead monster above. There is no way they will be there all year because the water will drop too much, but it is nice to see them.

That is incredible, a beautiful fish on a lovely fly. There is nothing like a steelhead on a fly. I caught a small, 24-26", steelhead on the Deschutes a few weeks on my 5 wt while fishing nymphs for redsides. It was a nice surprise.
