Stuck here in Chicago, there just isn't that much to photograph that is restful the way the countryside is. The closest I've seen is when people try to make the ugly buildings a little less ugly

There are plenty of restful places in Chicago. You just need to know where to look. Helps if you’re ok with walking or biking a bit. Try walking out the pier at North Ave Beach at dawn, for starters.

You're right, of course. It's just that at dawn, the most restful place I know is in bed. One of these days I'll buy a second bike lock and try out the Arboretum.

Ah, yes. If I win the lottery, I want a house in the hills with one big picture window looking into this, and one on the opposite side viewing the peaks across the valley.
