Before I get any further back in the game - any UK bods able to recommend an insurance broker for hobbyist/very small numbers?

Try Butterworth Spengler. They understand the bike market. Not sure of your volume but if you're building a couple of bikes a month, expect to add about £100-150 per frame to cover insurance.
