fork chrome2.jpg
Looking for pointers on whether/how I should handle a braze-on on a chromed fork for a front rack, 24pack from Surly, planning silver braze.
I was planning either on drilling the 1/4" hole for a stainless H2O bottle boss (stuck on with tape here for the pic) or using a barrel style boss (customer preference not my first thought, but I will do if able), and wondering:
A) best practice in sanding/filing the chrome away, outside with ventilator
B) how far do I have to remove chrome to not make a toxic mess
C) not sanding/filing on the drilled bottle boss hole option (but not the barrel option I wouldn't think)
D) telling the owner I shouldn't mess with it
much thanks
andy
