It seems like there should be a simpler way to do a pour over, but heh, I’m all for advancing science.

hey, how lucky can one man get.
Now I have to go for a coffee.
It's like day of the triffids married a coffee shop hipster ;) I'm at a loss. The only cooler coffee scheme I've ever seen was in SoHo. They had a system which sent fresh roasted beans via vaccum tube to a grinder which in turn passed it to some sort of French Press to produce your individually curated cup of coffee. The coffee was freaking outstanding, of course.
Gosh that does look inviting.

That rig would be perfect if he has a knife sharpening setup.
I've never had a nitro cold brewed coffee.

I predicts any day now someone will invent an automatic drip coffee maker. You heard it here first...Mr Pourover.

I don't see why "they" haven't figured out that the best way is to have an espresso machine minus the pressure. The grounds would be held in a disc of uniform thickness, with the water dripped uniformly and slowly/intermittently over the entire surface. That's roughly how the Krups MokaBrew works, although Krups uses the wrong duty cycle (too much on and not enough rest in between) and doesn't use a uniform enough screen.
I told the shop owner that he should have a shop cat eat the berries, harvest the “end product” and market the coffee as exotic, unobtanium and limited production...they roast their beans on site.

@rwsaunders If you don't mind me asking... What are those stainless steel cups on the self?

That’s taking the small batch single source thing a bit too far.
Rick...I couldn't tell you. I stop at this shop about once/month so next time I'm there, I'll inquire.

I'm not sure if that chain is Campag or Shimano but I told the owner that if he wanted to improve the quality of his roasts, that NFS race grease should be in the gun, NFS lube should be on the chain and an NFS sticker should replace that STP sticker. Note the "ghost in the machine"...

if I were buying an automatic drip machine... it'd be between the Wilfa and Mocca Master. That Wilfa is a little piece of eye candy... with the bonus of being a pretty good machine.

My amazing friends call me Shoogs.
This afternoon, I fell in love with this machine at first site...MADE Coffee in downtown Seattle. Apparently they roast their coffee in a wood fired 1949 Balestra...I need to see that roaster in action.

That is a beauty. FWIIW some of the most memorable coffee I've ever ground were beans from a Seattle roaster who roasted using wood. There was a hint of the wood note that kinda blew my mind....but I'm easy that way ;)

I always have a bag of their Parioli espresso beans at home but now I am dying to know if they were roasted in this manner. I guess that I have to organize a field trip to see the 1949 Balestra at Caffe D'arte's roasting plant down in Federal Way.
