Really Warm Mittens-not cycling specific

Winter is on it's way and I'd like to ask the forum for advice on some really warm, good quality mittens. I don't care if they are bulky, and I am willing to spend money if it means warm hands in low temperatures.

I find most mittens in the largest size available are too tight on my thumb, so something with a roomier fit would be welcome. I tried on a few pairs today at the local camping supply/outdoor gear store and I was not really impressed. The best that I found were North Face, but the thumb fit was too snug for my liking.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

RBH Designs..vapor mitt with the warmest liner they have. According to their size guide I take a medium but extra large is much better as far as comfort and dexterity when riding in the drops. My hands run very cold and I'm good for 90 minutes at -10F.

Hestra - known for gloves, make really great mittens also. Both in sport and more urban dress.

Heated mittens. I use heated gloves for skiing but can't recommend a brand of mittens. The heat system is finicky BUT IT WORKS.

The other option is to go to a snowmobile gear shop.

Without knowing how much dexterity you need, it is hard to recommend.

The two more options would be TNF Himalaya mitt or Marmot 8000m mitt.

They are really, really good and a great value compared to sporty type mittens, which easily cost three times the price. I love these. They are very warm, very durable.
If you have any stores around that sell things for farming, they would probably have something similar you could try on.

2nd Hestra gloves. I have their deerskin mitts in black. Super soft and very warm. I have other mittens but these are my favorites.

A great place to get coveralls for work in the cold that you can actually work in. Like an artist's studio in the middle of winter.

I’ve tried so many mittens. From $$$ OR or Black Diamond on down. By far the warmest, most functional and most affordable are military surplus two piece mittens. US, Swedish, all amazing. Typically leather w wool liners. Roomy and warm down to deep negative temps for $15 range. Can even get trigger fingers for braking power:
