I broke the navicular in my right foot in a bad way January 2. Plate plus screws and the whole deal. Outlook was a long slow heal. Fast forward one month and I'm way ahead of healing schedule. Back on the bike by mid March. Yay!

I found out today that the pain in my calf isn’t a symptom of something about to kill me any second,
I surely didn’t expect the Emerald City (Seattle) to look and feel like Anchorage this week, but Mrs. RW came out midweek and we’ve had a great time hanging with our daughter. If any anybody wants to set sail or sing sea shantys on the Virginia V, let me know as she works for the foundation. Tell her that Cap’n RW sent you.

hey, how lucky can one man get.
Glad to hear it. A number of years ago now, one of my wife's colleagues got off a plane, walked out to his car in the parking lot and died while sitting in the driver's seat waiting for the engine to warm up. Threw a clot that took him out, literally, in a heart beat. First time I had heard about DVT, and it scared the beejeebus out of me.
Cool.
I was married on the Virginia V sixteen years back.
Nice pics.
Enjoy the snow.

Why do people feel the need to list all of their bikes in their signature?
Today I get to make serious people happy by introducing them to the silly amount of creativity present in a member of my team. I'm excited for him.
Actually today the magic number is 0.
After all the excitement faded and the drudge of jersey zipping and straightening was settling in, today the company took care of all of the messy knowledge transfer bits by closing the whole product line down and laying off all the remaining developers in North America and India. Paid till April 15th, but our attendance is no longer required... I feel sorry for my non-qualifying mates because the package is not as good. Life in the modern high tech world finally catches up to us...
For me retirement starts early...Yee haw!

Our middle kid left Bloomington this morning to pick up his little brother in Columbus for the ride home to Pittsburgh for Spring break...all is good with those two. The oldest one had two wisdom teeth extracted this morning so her weekend is starting off rather rough. Anyway, they'll all be home together for a week so the party has started.

My wife and I had never been doggless since we met until our golden and rescue both passed away six months ago. The Mrs. informed me when I got home that we had to make a trip to a small town about an hour away to pick up something. Unbeknownst to me she had put a deposit down on a golden retriever a month ago and she was ready to go to her new home.
Gracie is her name and love is her game. Pics to follow soon.

Less than 24 hours until my wife and I are on our way to Hawaii. A much deserved break for the both of us; looking forward to non-winter weather outside time.

Drop daughter off at ballet @ 2:05 leave car get on the bike to ride to school to pick up my son.
Son and I ride to ballet two miles away. Son decides to ride in mud and wipes out. This swamp mud. And whole leg is covered. We fine a water fountain and wash him.
Get to the ballet and sit outside. Lessons are at a church in the parish hall and we are in a courtyard.
I smell $hit. After blaming my son I look down and I stepped into a huge huge pile of dog $hit. I cannot wipe it off because who wipes dog poop off on church property?
I get my shoe cleaned we all race to the dentist and are 10 minutes late.
No cavities, compliments on their behavior, teeth are so good they only need to see us 9 months from now instead of 6.

I'm enroute to a month in Shanghai. it's spring there and the cherry blossoms are out. There's still two feet of snow in Ottawa!
And because this is a work trip, I get to fly Business. I get one of those pods where I can recline to sleep horizontally.

Sergeant Pepper taught the band to play
They've been going in and out of style
But they're guaranteed to raise a smile
So may I introduce to you
The act you've known for all these years?
Thanks to Sir Paul and John for the lyrics...Mrs. RW and I leave for London on Sunday, a town that we haven't been to since '88. To say that we are stoked is truly an understatement and although a few years and miles have passed since then, we are approaching the trip with the same level of enthusiasm and excitement as we did when the Queen Mum was still with us.

RW,
Like me and most here, you married up! Whose watching all your job sites while you are gone?

Way to go, RW! If you get to the Tate and the royal observatory, I’ll be even more jealous. Haven’t made those visits happen yet.
