Default What's your "grab and go" breakfast?

Let's say you only have a minute or two before you have to be out the door and on your way to work in the morning, what do you have / take for breakfast?

Normally, when I have time, I have a bowl of cereal (warm soy milk in winter, cold soy milk in summer, and a variety of stuff like Wheetabix, muesli, and other stuff all tossed in for good measure), but sometimes getting a bit more sleep is more important than a sit-down meal.

If I'm in a huge rush I take a Clif bar. If I have a few seconds more I'll toss a slice of whole grain bread in the microwave, gulp that down plain, then take the Clif bar and head out.

    Any good ideas out there?

A banana or a carrot are good quick grab options. Otherwise I cut to slices of bread or pick a piece of baguette and stuff either some chocolate or swiss cheese inside.

There ain’t nothing more delicious in this world than a piece of plain bread microwaved on *high* for a minute. Luxury!

A bowl of home made yogurt is my favorite. Add a banana and I'm good till lunchtime.

Vanilla Greek yoghurt with berries or fruit. I'm not usually in the mood to eat right away, so I stick it in a container and take it to work with me.

I usually keep fruit in my office, and I have a couple boxes of granola bars and some trail mix in a filing cabinet just in case.

Fast is scoop of homemade muesli with extra raisins and milk. Faster is banana and cup of yogurt. Fastest is banana and a slug of kefir.

Cottage cheese sprinkled with dark maple syrup, flax seeds, chia seeds, sliced fresh banana and some good musli. I’m a bit embarrased to mention it but it’s been my standard go to breakfast for 5+ years now along with a big glass of water.

Is anyone here into overnight oats? Granted, it requires prep the night before, but it’s grab and go in the a.m. I like to use almond milk as the liquid, mixing in chopped banana and ground seeds (chia, flax, etc.). In the morning, top with granola, blueberries, chopped walnuts and sliced banana (most of which is also prepped the night before).

Bob's red mill has a muesli mix that is great for the overnight soak

So from what I'm reading there is a breakfast besides peanut butter toast. It all sounds weird to me.

A banana and a couple of waffle cookies...I can't recall the name of them but they're awesome with coffee.

Maybe you are not microwaving it sufficiently long enough to make it extra delicious?
Two slices of Wonder Bread (recommended best bread for this meal) needs about ten minutes.
Enjoy it plain for maximum flavor and texture. You’ll never eat at a five-star restaurant again.

Please tell me you meant ten seconds. 10 minutes for frozen lasagna maybe.

Sliced banana with chip n' seal grade peanut butter, makes it more breakfasty.

I make a hot breakfast nearly every day, and have made us a hot breakfast nearly every day since we got married 10 years ago - one very small gift I give to my wife for all the BS she puts up with. We are pretty much on a three-meal cycle: peanut butter/banana oatmeal, eggs and toast, kodiak cakes. We are morning people and like the hot meal ....

That said, our staple grab and go is also the overnight oats/muesli mentioned above. made in leftover PB jars and stored in the fridge for the next day ... Greek yogurt, milk, and oats in 1:1:1 ratios, cut up apples, bananas, and a couple tbsp of peanut butter. Stir it up and put it in your Frigidaire. Just the right amount of carbs, protein, and fat. Spoon required, so it's not the best driving meal, but it's possible. A can't-miss honest breakfast when you sleep in. Requires a few minutes prep before bedtime.

Obviously you don't have the right technique. Practice a bit more, and maybe it will come.
