About a year ago I closed the doors on Thrive Cycles. It was an easy decision. I couldn't hear what so many of the veteran builders were telling these eager and oblivious newbies like myself, "Build bikes for fun. It is way more enjoyable that way."

They are right. Building bikes for yourself is much more enjoyable.

You don’t see one of your boyhood heroes like Vernon Law quoted too often and unless one is an old school Pirates fan, I’m sure that most don’t know who The Deacon is. Thanks for sharing your bikes with us and thanks for sharing your thoughts.

Could not agree more, but your bikes have been among my favorites for simplicity and outstanding finish colors.
My wife always says I should build to sell and I say it would suck (for me) because I would have to work too fast or charge too much - or both.

Some more progress has been made on project #hooky . I'm hoping that the closer I get to finishing this that the weather will also get closer to warming up.
