    You might enjoy Broadchurch.
    She has a great role.

Moon on Netflix is a pretty decent scifi movie.

Just finished a week of jury duty. Second time but the first time I was an alternate. Got me thinking about the movie 12 angry men. Although the facts were different it was very easy to relate to the group dynamics. A fantastic film and well worth watching -Mike G

Directors cut of 1776. Includes the stuff that Nixon forced them to cut out. A couple of the songs are hokey and dated. But the rest is a good history refresher and an interesting insight into how we got on the pathway to the fine mess we find ourselves in today.

Just saw Midsommar. Was totally worth the $$.

Also, I've been watching Too Old to Die Young —on Amazon— (fellow forumite, Zimmerman, did a lot of the camera work on the show)

They're both slow paced and amazing.

TOTDY is from the same director as Drive and Valhalla Rising. It's such a good combo of the two movies.

Well, I don't know if it'll suck or not, but Ron Howard and his crew are currently in town filming 'Hillbilly Elegy' for Netflix. Sections of downtown Macon, GA have been turned into the late 40's Middletown, OH. The book is a good read, but I'm not sure exactly how well it'll translate to film.

Not a real opera house. Look closely and you can see where they put some tiles on the building to add the name - the color match is *perfect*.

Old truck with a camera rig on the side. I would have gotten closer but the "security guard"* asked us to stay on the sidewalk.

    Baby girl's first movie set!

    Drug store

Are you a man in name only? If so - they got what you need!

    I don't live in OH.

*Lets talk about the security guards. Netflix needs to get their sh*t together on this. Last week a female security guard, who was working alone, got beat up and had her car stolen. Two dudes walked up, hit her in the head and pulled her out of the car and took the car. She admitted she had the windows down and door open. Yesterday we saw two security guards watching the sets downtown, both also women. One who was tiny and looked terrified when a couple on motorcycles pulled up next to her for a minute (the two on the bikes were obvious newbs, and they stopped to ask each other a question about where they were going). While she looked at them we walked right up in front of her and waited to ask if we could take pics...she didn't even notice us standing 3ft away from her. When we passed back by later she was just staring at her phone and totally oblivious to everything happening around her. The other security guard we saw was also another woman, also working alone. This lady was middle aged and really overweight. She ain't guarding anything, she could call the cops if something went down, but that's about it. The guards weren't armed with anything, not even a taser or pepper spray. Also, what a sh*tty job - they were both sitting in fold out lawn chairs out in the heat. All day. They were in the shade, but still, that is not a job you want in mid July in Macon, GA. Whatever they're getting paid, it ain't enough. And I'm guessing the pay is pretty low, which is why the only folks they seem to hire appear to be really poor fits for the jobs.

I saw Toy Story 4 with my kids this past weekend (along with seemingly every other family in NYC trying to find activities to do with kids to avoid the heat). I have not seen the prior Toy Story movies and my expectations were low, but I thought this movie was surprisingly well done.

I’ve been more down than most about the drought of good movies. Go see ‘what about Bernadette’. Do yourself a favor and see it. I’ll Paypal you your ticket price if you don’t love it.

I loved it. Except for the very unsatisfying ending it is such a gem of a movie. It feels like a sex pistols song.

"Robin Hood", with Errol Flynn vs. Basil Rathbone, music by Korngold.

    The Cannonball Run............NOT.

My son had been begging me to watch this for a month now after listening to the Stuff You Should Know podcast about it. Of course it's not streaming anywhere, so I bought the DVD for $6 on Amazon and we watched it last night.

Terrible terrible terrible. Dom DeLouise is really the only part that I even found mildy humorous. Also props to Roger Moore for having a huge self-deprecating sense of humor. Ok, that's it.

I saw "Scary Stories To Tell In The Dark" and let me tell you, it's well worth seeing if you were a fan of the books. They did a good job with this one. Also, Stranger Things wishes it was this movie.

It´s an epic saga set in the 80s around the marijuana trade from Colombia to US. It´s Scarface as a religious fable from a native american POV w/ dialogues in dialect. It´s poetic, symbolic and a wild trip.

    King of Staten Island.

GREAT film. You will not regret paying full boat and not going to the theater.

I will never give a dollar or a minute of my time to Pete Davidson. Absolutely horrible "actor" and terrible on SNL. I want to watch it only to see Bill Burr.

I think we had a dedicated thread about it, but I recently watched Ford vs. Ferrari. I'm not a car guy or a car racing guy, but I really enjoyed the movie. It did not suck.

I don't know if it has already been mentioned yet and it is a few years old at this point... but "Hell or High Water" is great!
It's a brother movie and a bank robber movie. Trailer here:
