Went through this a few months ago. Lost my first Eskie. A true friend. I didn't save ashes, do the paw print or anything. For me it was about the memories. I'm grateful for the good times and the photos. Thought I was over it, but I got a second Eskie which I love a great deal already but the new guy makes me remember the first and I get happy/sad thinking about it. -Mike G
