I didn't quite expect this. Thought buying an above range microwave would be easy. Existing unit was 1.4 cubic square feet and 16 5/16 inches tall. Below that I have granite tile. Appliance company came to measure and said I absolutely cannot go larger. Seems units are larger now. 1.6 cubic feet is on the small side with some units over 2.0 cubic feet and more. Really struggled trying to find a unit within the height requirement.

When did microwaves get so big? All I do is defrost things and maybe heat up a single plate of food or a frozen side dish from the market?
Found one unit a Dacor, the premium Samsung brand but only 1.1 cubic feet inside way smaller than what I have now
