I am not sure most people know how to use this word and their individual use of it is not always "totally" unique.
And the misuse of "Fire" drives me crazy. Does it mean something is literally "on fire", figuratively "on fire", or that you are "Financially Independent and are going to Retire Early"?
Heartening to see so many who care about words and meaning. I could have expected that around here.
I'm hyper-sensitive to the use of any noun as a verb. As a friend once astutely & sublimely pointed out "In corporate-speak any noun can be verbed."
The one that gets my goat more recently is "What's our exposure?" Sweet jesus, either call it "financial risk" or just say "how much money do we stand to lose?"
hopefully. it is about doing something with an optimistic frame of mind. and decimate. this does not mean extreme damage, but to reduce by ten per cent.

Buzzphrases. My favourite version of this is “our strategy going forward”. Thank heavens it’s not one of those strategies for the past like so many other people develop.
I worked for a company “positioning for growth”. That means getting way smaller than they currently are.
“All credit to them, they gave 110%.”
Ooh, and “reach out” and “let’s touch base”. FFS.
