Given the clearance under the crown and ease of availability - and provided the rake works with the needs of the customer - this fork should work for better than half of our rim brake Strada Bianca builds. And it looks good so no whinging from me about the aesthetics.

Whiskey says that a 35mm tire will fit fine - and I've seen this myself - which leads me to think that some 38mm tires will work. And building the frame to take that size isn't rocket science, either.

You beat me to it. Whisky Fork, Max tubes, Strada Bianca platform, 35mm tire (maybe a 32 with fenders).

This is the only Hampsten Tournesol Carbon Leger thst I’ve ever seen. I bought it from Douglas Brooks years ago and kept it for a year or so. Going back and re-reading my notes about it I’m surprised I sold it. It was a terrific bike both in looks and performance. I was young and foolish in those days.

It's been a busy week working on the website here at HampCo Towers so allow me to take a minute and bore you with the details:

New model! We're joining the 21st century! It's got disc brakes! We're shameless whores! Il Mostro – Hampsten Cycles

And since I never get tired of looking at pictures of myself or of the fun things I do (void where prohibited by law, of course), we now have an Events page: Events – Hampsten Cycles (more to come here, as it happens, really)

And, sadly, two deletions: Oscar, our track model; and Il Carbonario, our Asia-sourced carbon frame. Neither have been selling as needed, we can always bust out a track frame if requested, people don't seem to come to me for pre-made carbon frames (go figure), and the photos will live on somewhere on the site. My nephew, Oscar, will be crushed (not literally, you understand).

Lastly, thanks to Ben Groenhout for his great photography on the three pages linked above; thanks as well to Martin Fernandez for his hard work on the website; and finally, thank you to all of my great customers and supporters - you folks rock.

Hey, Oscar ain't deleted he is just on sabbatical. Watched the Masters Worlds and saw 0 steel track frames. But I still like Oscar. the kid and the bike. And it is a good thing about the Monster coming to life, check out Salsa, Giant and Trek for the number of "new" old school bikes for 33-45mm tires. Circle of life and deja vu all over again. Huh?

I initially had some self-serving claptrap on Il Mostro page about how we started building gravel road bikes back in 2000 - fortunately a frustomer® talked me out of it. But it is a good idea and it's been around for a while.

It ain't claptrap if it is a fact Jack. You guys have had gravel/white road bikes for a long time. But then again all road bikes in the day could fit bigger tires and fenders if they had mounts. So nothing really new, except the forks and disco and the modern engineering that makes the new ones ride so much better. I am just happy as a clam that more and more people are getting off the pave and exploring the wonderful backroads of the world. I am a reluctant disco fanboy, but I must admit they do stop you in a hurry. Happy Holidays
