So there are serious concerns that the current president would have to be removed by the military if Biden is elected....
Biden 'absolutely convinced' military would escort Trump from White House if he loses and refuses to leave - CNNPolitics
Totally normal.
One of the things I like to do when I'm News Harvesting is go to the AllSides | Balanced news site to see what the "opposing team" is saying/thinking. Today I found an article asserting that the claim that an incumbent Republican would not vacate the White House if they lost the election is a Liberal conspiracy theory that has been going on for decades:
Liberal Reporters Are Pushing A Conspiracy Theory That Has Plagued Republican Presidents For Decades | The Daily Caller
Okay den... :::smh:::
they have to, the day hes done serving, the military is no longer his to control, they now owe fealty to the next voted president, or something like that. hes just trying to rile up his gun toting base again. maybe he thinks people will vote for him to avoid a violent uprising? maybe hes just that much of an egomaniac? maybe this is exactly why nobody should have ever voted for him or anyone like him in the first place. People knew and still know better, but people are weird.

This is true but the problem is the scorched earth Trump and McConnel will lay to waste between the election and inauguration. He never retreats so would lead to a stupid escalation.
The Cabinet and congress would need to move Section 4 of the 25th amendment to replace Trump with Pence prior to the inauguration in my opinion
He will complain about an unfair election or ballot stuffing, but he'll leave. I don't think he ever thought he'd win in 2016.

And, as the virus politic thread....what about Pence tweeting (and then deleting) the picture of him with the campaign staff....meeting of that size was illegal, not only no social distancing but shoulder to shoulder, and not a mask in sight.
What is it with these people...is it deny it exists and it won't? arrogance of I am untouchable even by a disease? religious fanaticism if God wants me to die I'll die? some kind of perverse big swinging one manhood proving thing?
I just don't understand because it can't just be because they are stupid.

Not just a delightful read, but a lesson in magical thinking: the current leader (and his predecessor) both practice the art of outlawing the mention or diagnosis of afflictions that they would prefer did not exist.

What a ridiculous situation.
Another ridiculous situation (from the Guardian):
Trump campaign policy stops people suing if they contract coronavirus at rally
US president Donald Trump has implementing a policy that states rally attendees cannot sue the campaign or venue if they contract coronavirus at the event, the New York Times reports:
‘By clicking register below, you are acknowledging that an inherent risk of exposure to Covid-19 exists in any public place where people are present,’ a statement on Mr. Trump’s campaign website informed those wishing to attend his June 19 rally in Tulsa, Okla. ‘By attending the rally, you and any guests voluntarily assume all risks related to exposure to Covid-19 and agree not to hold Donald J. Trump for President, Inc.; BOK Center; ASM Global; or any of their affiliates, directors, officers, employees, agents, contractors or volunteers liable for any illness or injury.’
Any candidate, any party, holding a rally at a time like this should have to call on their donors and create a fund for attendees and local residents who become ill.

I usually don't have any problem finding fault with Trump, but I have no problem with this policy. Personal accountability has to start somewhere. If you go to a public rally, and you get sick, why should you get to sue someone for it? I get that the leaders of said rally have downplayed the risk. But unless they are guaranteeing safety, you gotta be on your own on this one.
How could anyone "prove" (in a civil suit, I guess this would be "preponderance of the evidence" level of "prove") that they contracted the virus from any specific event/location anyway?
