In-laws leaving today after a week-long invasion. They're like tequila - a little bit is fun, too much = headaches and nausea. It's time. Bonus:good weather for lots of base miles today and tomorrow.

- Tomorrow, the local club is doing the January century for the Century Of The Month club I signed up for. It's going to be warm out. I'm on call and can't be out of pocket that long.
- Sunday, Ceceri is doing his 2014 First Century. It's going to be warmer yet. I'm on call and can't be out of pocket that long.
Anti grump? I'm going to ride outside both days this weekend even if it is pouring rain in January when it is supposed to be snowing. Then Sunday night I'm going with Karen to see Trombone Shorty.
I'm deploying for the first time in a few years. I'm a contractor now, so I get to stay in a fancy hotel with drivers and personal security teams and shit. I'm gonna get to do remote site surveys with my quadracopter. 29 hour flight, but it's without kids and I have tons of work to do and lots of good books to read.
Insubordinate. And Churlish.
Daytime temps in N. Carolina are near 50F and I've got a roof rack on the new car.
Happy Days.

I'm in the construction industry and just got word that I will be running a job with a 14 month duration. 2.5 miles from my house.
Mike
i'm skiing w/my buds tmmrw! nothing better. it's going to rain on the hill and i could give a shit. time to rip.
you're not the lord of the flies
Count me in.
The big one is at school and the small one is asleep after two continuous hours of crying (I think we're dealing with separation anxiety). Rather than catch up on missed sleep from last night, I'm looking on the internets for a house in MD. Optimistic that we can make the move in 2014.
This caught me so off guard I giggled out loud like a little kid. I almost registered a second time so I could like it twice. That's my happy thought for Friday.
And also that David Bazan album was nice to listen to, and I'm glad that although our situations are similar I'm not struggling with the booze the way he did.
This is for Nahtnoj

I like Bazan's earlier stuff as Pedro the Lion. My friends have met him and said he's definitely a little off. He's been capitalizing on his "breaking up with god" gig for awhile now. I think he was still playing Christian music festivals while putting out his later work. I have Christian friends that still listen to him a lot. I haven't followed along really with what you are going through, but if you want another example of a spectacular album about religious dogma and hypocrisy, try Cursive's Happy Hollow.
Oh anyway - it's Friday. I feel like I have break-bone fever (aka dengue) but I know it's not that. So let's see, what's good ...
House is clean. Weird neighbors moved away. Get to watch more of The Empire Strikes Back with my 5 yo.
Auk's words to live by:
Blow up and pin a picture of M. Bartoli on your wall. When you achieve that position, stop. Until then, stretch, ride, stretch, ride, eat less, and ride more.
Single digit high today with strong winds and no chance of sun. Suck it grumps and get your asses out on a bike where vigor trumps victimizing.
-My jobs is alright, my boss and coworkers are cool, and I've got a lot of big stuff coming up to keep me busy.
-My prediction that the Funkadelic Spotify Radio station would be better than the Parliament Spotify Radio station proved true.
-On ocassion, shit gets stirred here, and I like a few of you.
