How do you feel the size and power compare with your former Silverado? Just curious if you don't mind: why did you dump the Chevy for something new?

They are nearly the same size footprint/height/width. There is quite a bit more cabin room despite the published numbers. Interior layout is simple and logical nothing over the top or clumsy. This is the "limited" trim package so yeah it's "nicer" than it needs to be in ways that don't matter.

The Silverado was special. That truck had 380 (something) HP and it was fast, very fast...no idea how fast 'cause GM installed nannies that shut it down at 97 mph. This truck is lighter, just as much HP and has two more forward gears....it's faster and seems to have better torque across the board. Curiously, the ride is comparable to the Chevy which had a great ride. The Silverado had a bloody great stereo, this one is terrible...anybody want to trade beers and tubular tires for an upgrade?

I'll have more to report once I find some legal offroad trails in the GW forest this summer. Yee haw.

*** Edit. Just back from a 90 mile freeway trip. This truck is the equal of my old Chevy 6.0 Vortec Max, it's not faster but does have more torque...it just seems faster ;)

I hope this is of aid to many here. The hour you would have potentially spent watching the reboot of Top Gear won't need to be wasted. It is truly that bad.

From what I've read the reboot of Top Gear is a waste of Sabine. Chris Harris is enough reason for me to watch Extra Gear, however. If BBC America would make it available to us cable cutters.

This is tremendous. Imagine that thing ripping around Slovakia. It would take up most of the road even when it wasn't sideways.

Word is we'll get the 63 or whatever...
"As an homage to the EPOdays of yore- I'd find the world's last remaining pair of 40cm ergonomic drop bars.....i think everyone who ever liked those handlebars in that shape and in that width is either dead of a drug overdose, works in the Schaerbeek mattress factory now and weighs 300 pounds or is Dr. Davey Bruylandts...who for all I know is doing both of those things." - Jerk

Our neighbors just got this thing. I felt a bit like you do when someone shows you their newborn and you are expected to say "how cute" but the baby looks like it will eventually grow fur all over its body and eat from a bowl.

Toyota said they "improved" the Prius, but it looks like this too. Is Toyota thinking that everyone wants their cars to look like a Transformer?

    That's better.

We've been around and around on cars for 2 years now, and fortunately our VW TDI keeps puffing out the noxious gases and killing the planet. I think the sales people run and hide from us now though. We settled on a TDI Golf and then the nice Golf Wagon came out. Then we settled on one of those and the TDI scandal erupted. We've thought about just saying eff-it and getting a Golf GTI, but two weekends ago my wife rode in one of these and liked it. So I don't know. Just crossing my fingers we don't have to buy anything until the end of summer. I hate looking for cars in the summer.

My car feelings and bike feelings are converging on a single theme: better stuff, and less of it.
