I will never give a dollar or a minute of my time to Pete Davidson. Absolutely horrible "actor" and terrible on SNL. I want to watch it only to see Bill Burr.

Understood. I was hesitant for similar reasons. Some insightful reviews gave me some hope.

RED (retired extremely dangerous) falls into the action/adventure/buddy film genre. Helen Mirren, Bruce Willis, Malkovich, Mary Louise Parker, Morgan Freeman.

The Kingsman films with Colin Firth are also good fun...Bond like adventure

So was Knives Out (which is streaming on Prime).

Up tonight is 1969's The Italian Job, never seen it, also on Prime.

Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga on NF. Rachel McAdams makes the movie much better than I expected from a Will Ferrell movie.

I think we had a dedicated thread about it, but I recently watched Ford vs. Ferrari. I'm not a car guy or a car racing guy, but I really enjoyed the movie. It did not suck.

I just finished this. Did not suck. I didn't watch the credits to see who scored this, but the remix of James Burton's Polk Salad Annie cover was an excellent choice.

I don't know if it has already been mentioned yet and it is a few years old at this point... but "Hell or High Water" is great!
It's a brother movie and a bank robber movie.

And I like this easy one, not used to see Colin Firth in a role like this. I genuinely laughed a few times.

Just watched Scorsese's "No Direction Home" on Netflix. Bob Dylan between 1961-66. Fascinating. Great old footage too. Does not suck.

I’ll add in « Jimmy Carter thé Rock and Roll President » which is a documentary available until I think November 5 at AFI Silver Screening (12 bucks). Carter was really about do things because it is right not necessarily politically expedient. The music is great. I forgot how well versed he was in it. And, it is interesting how his upbringing included music across all genres. The musicians in the movie are great. It made me feel warm about the world in many ways. A very humanizing look at the world. Definitely worth the 96 minutes and the 12 bucks.

Just watched "Before the Devil Knows You're Dead". Saw it on release and again tonight. A great Neo-noire. And they filmed the jewelry heist scene in the shopping center where I grew up. Was supposed to be Westchester but they liked the Bayside shopping center better -Mike G

Top Gun, Maverick was way better than I expected it to be after Tom’s Cruise’s past couple decades. Not deep or anything but enjoyable.

Recent documentary Hockeyland on HS hockey in Minnesota was well done if you’re a fan of the sport.

Just and finally watched "The Gentlemen" by Guy Ritchie. I missed it when it came out in 2020. Really enjoyed it - don't generally enjoy Matthew McConaughey but he was a great part of an excellent cast. Won't rock your world but solid, fun entertainment. Netflix.

Yeah, Guy had some clunkers after Lock Stock and Snatch, but that recent one is squarely in that vein. The Tom Hardy film Legend is great if you like that genre.

Great movie. One of my favorites. Brilliant acting by PSH as usual.

"The Station Agent" with Peter Dinklage, Bobby Cannavale and Patricia Clarkson, and then Cannavale in "The Jesus Rolls" with John Turturro.
And Dinklage in two versions of "Death at a Funeral", British and American. Of the two, both good, I enjoyed the American version better.
