Not that many. I don't even like cars. I like bicycles and motorcycles. Cars are boring. And lean the wrong way in corners. But in terms of numbers - 15 maybe. I've been driving for 20 years this year. None of the race cars I ever sat in were mine. Except that 240 I just mentioned -- it was an 1985 ex-DTM Volvo 240 Turbo... let's see if we can't find a picture - there she is!

You are building pretty much my ideal car.
There's a new ZL1 Camaro on a train headed towards my fathers home, he should pick it up next week. Personally I think it's a bit heavy.. but it did throw down a fairly impressive time at the ring so maybe it'll be all right...

?? Never had a volvo... I do have a '91 E30 BMW though.

oops, mixing folks up. my pre-coffee brain was thinking zimmerman. (not George)
Given the choice of the ZL1 or your Volvo, I don't know which way I would go. Both are pretty awesome....
used to have a 67 220 wagon. neat car.
that b20 def did not have 175 ponies tho
dual brit carbs were a pain in the ass to sync and shot gas all over the exhaust manifold when cranky
it used to be driven up and down this every day

my 850 is a much better car than the amazon ever was
Those 850s can be amazing cars, I had a '95 turbo wagon that I took too far and it became a bit tiresome as a daily driver, fully ajustable Ohlins suspension from a British touring car championship car with strut brace and progresive springs (lowered about 1.5") IPD sway bars nice 17" wheels off a C70 and enough engine tweaks to get it up to 170mph out at El Mirage.
would have kept it forever but 150,000 miles of road use with the stiff suspension and it was coming apart, sure was fun though.

Saw a Maserati convertible Saturday when I was out for a ride, no idea what model but when the driver stepped on it I had one of those "I have got to gets me one of those!" moments. The only way to describe the noise was a snarling tearing sound. Rapidly disappearing, too. Sunday when I was fixing a flat a Lotus went by, I swear the roofline was about knee height on me. Interesting spring, so far.
I quit road racing, so I am getting back into toys......I traded my unfinished 67 bus for a custom 65 beetle........it's got a 2110cc monster in the back of it........I'll try to figure out how to post pics
We're looking for a new ride.
Single-car family. $15k max, room for small kids, long-term reliability (mostly likely will have used up first 100k on odo). MANUAL tranny, and it has to be at least a little bit fun to drive (I've spent most of my life driving a SUV)!!!
Besides something like an Impreza anything else I need to look at? How are the Mazda 3s long term?

my name is Matt
The Accord is still available with a manual but you'd probably have to order a new one to get it set up that way. The new Focus will be available with a manual soon but that may be out of your price range. The Fit is probably too small, if only Honda had sold the four door EP hatch in the US that would be my hands down recommendation.
here is a pic

My buddy is selling his Guzzi Daytona.

I'm not really a motorcycle guy, but I think if I was I'd find a place for it (or something similar). I think if he got himself a bit "fitter" he could make this work.
That thing is hot, but the riding position would be unforgiving for the vast majority of folks.Originally Posted by rmplum
