Yes, thank you. And someone at Audi decided that was a more viable sales proposition than an Avant.

Recently sighted in the Twin Cities - a Pontiac Aztec in drivable condition! Don't see that every day.

Too bad I couldn't get closer to the Aztec, but this showroom condition AMC Eagle was in the way. A car way ahead of its time actually. The original crossover.

And sighted just now, a Land Cruiser just four doors up the street from my new house in Michigan. I'll try to talk to the owners as soon as I can!

As a foolish teenage driver, I was "racing" my parents home on a road trip from VA to NY with a couple of younger siblings in my sister's AMC Eagle. At that age, we were immune to any bumps and potholes and trying to beat mom & dad. Started making increasingly loud and odd noises as we grew closer and closer, but needed to keep driving to beat our parents. Dad recognized a smell as soon as he pulled in the driveway (about 30 minutes after us) and popped the hood to see that one of our bumps had perforated the oil filter and we had proceeded to drain all of the oil. He was livid that we had driven like that and certain we had blown the motor. But he screwed on a new filter the next day and poured in the new oil and wouldn't you know that it showed no wear at all. No knocks, ticks or any damage. In all likely hood it was a close call/miracle, but that vehicle as a legend in my mind....until my sister drove it off the side of the road and into a pond, if my memory serves me right, with the sun in her eyes ~ she does fine now, but she was pretty horrific as a teenage driver.

LOVE it! Hope you have lots of fun. I owned a few along the way.

    This one was my favorite:

Took the 911 for a "spirited" drive to the coast using twisty bay area roads after my bike ride today. My god this car is so good. Traveling at jail driving speeds with amazing grip, radio off, windows down, stupid but thrilling. Smoked a guy in a Ferrari on Pescadero road, not quite sure he has realized what happened to him yet :)

Love you long time old man but you must enroll in SCCA DE school and get some real behind the wheel time at a real race track with a professional driver by your side. Not ment as a criticism. Yah need to learn how to get into and out of trouble and esp. so with 911s.

Done that in Le Mans with a buddy of mine. Will do again in Vegas later this year. But there is no way to push my car to the limit on open roads.

Excellent. I've been doing some autocross as well. That is a very interesting skill not unlike driving in downtown DC ;)

We went and fetched this on Friday. Lowest mile used orange w/leather that we could find. Previously owned by a nice 73 year old lady that selected every doodad, protectant and extended warranty (all transferable) available and changed the oil religiously every 2,500-3,000 miles up to its current 38k. Total cream-puff.

Tires at 4/32s will be replaced in the spring, but we use winter tires anyway.

Hopefully the bumpers will stay attached longer than they did on her Impreza (it sits almost 3 full inches higher).

And that is why you need to get it out on the track. get some sunday wheels with slicks and go for it.

glad you got that one. the 2018 (below) does not look as nice. they mucked it up by adding more lines to the car
