Got my bottle of "sewing oil" yesterday, but haven't been able to ride yet. I've been using ProLink Gold as my lube of choice up until now. NFS application instructions call for a "clean" chain, so would you recommend I soak my chain in a degreaser before applying?

If you've been using ProLink Gold, you can do a full cleaning first, but when I first started testing NFS I switched from Gold as well and didn't bother with anything beyond a good terry cloth wipe job. NFS plays well with most other lubes and the Gold is going to go away pretty quick if it hasn't already.

Since you are used to Gold, you are used to using relatively huge amounts of lube. FOLLOW TOOT'S INSTRUCTIONS! It is very easy to use way more than you actually need.

I also switched from Gold and ^^^ is spot on. Fight the urge for that extra drop or two...it's not needed.

PS, I've stopped being able to remember how long ago my chain was lubed. There's just too many miles between lubings with NFS. The stuff really lasts.

Nice Rig Jon, thanks for the hook up. He'll do great, he's a GREENE.

Hey! NFS is now available in Washington, DC at The Bicycle Pro Shop I'm very partial to this shop since it was started by the fabled Mel Pinto who was one of the real founders of real live racing bikes and bits to the USA. Mel's legacy can be seen in many places: Cortina Rollers, TA (everything) not to mention his amazing warehouse where everything campy could be found.

The Bicycle Pro Shop is still one of the best in the area. Thanks guys.

I came from Morgan Blue and I put 20 drops on my degreased and very clean chain first time round. Waaaay to much. I lent some to my mates and told them to only put 10-12 drops at most and then let me know how they go. I still haven't needed to lube my road bike and I'm up to 300km on it so far. It's so good it's ridiculous. The chain looks like it might be dry but you can tell by the feel that it's still being super lubed. Still buttery smooth.

Well, I went with a total degrease/scrub of the chain and then about half-dozen drops on the train and ran it through the gears. The (lack of) sound; the smell, GLORIOUS.

Now, to actually ride the damn thing.

Heads up Signature Cycles a case of 4oz NFS headed your way. Thank you for your business.

Now a word of appreciation for Matt S. who has tirelessly created stellar graphics for NFS. Huzzah you rock. Safe travels to your event.

These guys like to go topless. Shameless.

Here's another action shot of the NFS before a ride. It's one of the original bottles. I don't ride here in DC that much but I'm here today for a few seconds and so I thought I'd pump up the tires on the Serotta and wipe down the drivetrain and plop a couple drops on the chain. Yeah, it works. Now I'm going for a ride. Tomorrow morning too if anyone can get out for a couple hours before 2 PM.

    La Cheeserie!

So here I am, grilling pizza over apple wood chunks and can't figure out what smells better. The pizza or the sweet smell of NFS on a freshley scrubbed chain fresh off a 2/3s trip down the TNGA route.

I tell you this stuff works - through the countless stream crossings, bombing downhill gravel roads, jeep tracks and goat trails to the muddy mess of south fork/Pinhoti 0, it just worked. The best part? No horrible mess to clean up when I got home. A quick scrub and relube was all I needed.

Used for the first time today. Certainly made for a quiet drivetrain. As soon as I opened the bottle I recognized the smell :)

You'll need to buy more just for the sexy new & improved label:

Also, a very limited number of sample NFS bottles will be available to fans of the Zanconato Racing team next Saturday at LotoJa. Tell 'em Elvis sent you.
