I snagged it and I can't tell if it is missing a guide or I just can't figure out how to use it. It looks like most other facing tools have guides the thread into BB shell. Joe's current price list says that the tools comes with english adapters. I'll try contacting him and maybe he can get me the parts I need. Does anyone have a better idea?

    It is nice and sharp!

^^ you are missing the guide, which is essentially two dummy BB cups and a dummy BB axle which slide over an arbor. Call Joe for a replacement.

the thread has to be made on a lathe to a matter of ensuring perfect alignment, what with the hand tool can be very difficult.

I make these pieces in quantity here in São Paulo. If u want I can sell you some.

    in portuguese:
a rosca tem que ser feita em um torno até por questão de garantir o perfeito alinhamento, o que com a ferramenta manual pode ser bem dificil.

Eu faço em quantidade essas peças aqui em São Paulo. Se vc quiser posso te vender algumas.
