Speaking about Cantor's opening 45 minute presentation, Lindsey Graham said this,

“Well, I think I — I thought I — I really didn’t know — I thought I knew where he was going,” Graham told reporters. “And I really didn’t know where he was going.”

That made me laugh out loud.
My wife and I watched together for part of his presentation.
We kept looking at each other to ask where the hell is he going with this?
I stayed on for the full 45 minutes.
This is one time I agree with the the Weasel from South Carolina.

They are remembering what Rove and Bush II did to McCain in South Carolina in 2000. Sure, the Christian Coalition can be pushed, but you cross the wrong folks, and you're going to get burned. I'm guessing that the Dominionist money and top GOP operatives still have their hands on the levers and are letting the sitting senators know.

Primaries. Trump's infomercial Go-Fund-Me after the election raised some substantial seed money to start a war chest for putting Proud Boys* in Republican primaries as needed to defeat incumbents.

Give Trump's lawyer a break. It's hard to defend the indefensible.

Just saying to show up before a room of nearly all lawyers with sticky notes and scraps of paper is a reflection of the guy that hired them at the last minute when the other last minute crew rounded up by Lindsey Graham had to run for their own protection.
    Understand that?

    Primary season.

Ask Eric Cantor what it means to get outflanked on the right in a primary. People will oust someone from their district next in line for the speakership. GOP purity test runs deep, but these days it's all are you with the cult of personality or not. There is no room for dissent.

It's time to write more letters to the editor in support of conviction and disqualification from public office: Here's a convenient way from Common Cause: https://www.commoncause.org/convictl...bed-4398-30848

Quite frankly, it would not matter if they played 10 hrs. of Sesame Street. His "defense" is not about substance and certainly not a defense. Hiring rubes, that's SOP.

It's another feature of Gerrymandering safe districts. The primary becomes the real election and the movement is away from center since there is not need to include the otherside.

He was definitely the guy giving a book report on a book he hasn't read - while wearing his dad's suit.
It's not the years, honey. It's the mileage.

The sad part is they could come out there with a trained seal barking and whacking its flippers together and the outcome would be the same.

There's three people I wish were still alive:

    - Travis T. Hipp
    - Molly Ivins
    - Hunter S Thompson

This would still be tragic, but at least it would be entertaining.

I was applying a degree of sarcasm.

However, as TT has said, it really doesn't matter what the lawyers use as an argument.

    I get that.
I just need to take a step back from this back and forth.
I don't want to debate small points with those I agree with at large.

    It's too raw.

You folks, every one of you, need to be flooding your newspapers, senators, congresspeople and whomever else you can think of with letters demanding Trump's conviction and disqualification from ever holding public office, rather than prattling on and on about meaningless details or impotent analyses, here.

This country needs to make everybody associated with the insurrection pay a very heavy, very durable price and it's up to all of us to take effective action to make that happen. The future of our country depends on it.

Any halfway reasonable, well meaning person watching the evidence should be able to do nothing but shiver at how close we came to having Trump and his fellow insurrectionists murder a bunch of our elected officials in an attempt to subvert the election. That the party of Back the Blue isn't in lock step with the Democrats is beyond sickening and should make clear their monstrous and murderous hypocrisy and complicity. I was in the shop listening to the case yesterday and shaking with rage and fear about what nearly happened.

Shut your pie hole here and get off your butts and do it; start writing and tell others to do the same. It is outrageous that the Senate isn't already 100 to zero for conviction. The Senators who haven't committed to voting to convict know full well that they're betraying their oaths of office, they're just too chicken-shit or invested in retaining power to be true to our country and their commitments.

Donald's lawyers are well-versed in arguing in front of all-white juries.

    Prepare?
