Well my daughter’s flight took off from Seattle so game on. French theme tonight with the beef dish, inverted scalloped potatoes and other goodies. I should have tapped Tim Porter’s cellar for some vintage French wine, but we’ll have to manage. More pics coming of the dessert table and the meal itself. Bon appétit!

There is a smoke salmon quiche and a buttermilk pie cooling in the kitchen. We visited friends and family in PHX yesterday. We had lunch at Arizona Wilderness Brewery, https://www.azwbeer.com/ and I had fried chicken and waffles with double pecan pie brown ale (11% ABV). That is all I had to eat yesterday so the guilt is not that strong.

    AZ Wilderness is pretty good.

    Buttermilk pie?

I will be cooking a turkey tomorrow and amidst all of the other parts of the meal I will eat far too much of my favourite vegetable - Brussel Sprouts - which will make Boxing Day unpleasant for the rest of my family.

I’ve grown to love roasted Brussels sprouts. Tasty today, and they’ll heat up your chairlift ride tomorrow!

When you eventually migrate south, West Side Lilo's is a restaurant in Seligman with an amazing selection of pies. We planned our trip home yesterday to pass through Seligman but Lilo's was closed.

Always a pleasure Mike! The house was rocking last night too, as all were able to make it here in spite of the weather. As it was a French themed dinner (our interpretation of course), one of my nieces made this video.
