The real challenge arises, which I am going through now, when your child turns 2 and you want to go riding with them. I'm torn between getting a Chariot and attaching it to the back of a cross bike or buying an expensive cargo bike where he would sit in the front and get a great view. Any ideas regarding this?
the burley cart or similar is what I would do purely from a safety perspective. my wife deals with head injured kids and in the off chance you ditch the bike, your kid will take a direct shot from 4' up. with a cart, they are back there reading, with their stuffed toys, etc. but make no mistake. few kids want to sit strapped in for any length of time. I was lucky to get 45minutes before the "I want out!" started. buy used and then resell.

forget giving them a great view. I think that's us projecting on the kid. :-)

    burley over chariot?

I'm definitely projecting onto my son, I just want them to have as much fun as dad does when riding...

I am very happy with the chariot. everyone I speak with recommends the chariot over the Burley equivalents. I didn't have to choose because mine was a hand-me-down, but if buying new, sounds like the chariot is the way to go.

If the OP is still looking, I highly recommend the Mutsy 4 Rider Light if Mutsy fits your lifestyle / needs. Mutsy is based in the Netherlands. I live in Barcelona and walk everywhere, so I wanted a stroller with large wheels for long outings on foot. Almost two years in with baby no. 2 on the way and I couldn't be happier. I don't own a car so the large footprint was a non-factor. I purchased the stroller in the US online on closeout due to a discontinued color and got a killer deal about $250, half full retail. I'm not sure if any deals like this still exist but my contact is Gaile Spalione spalione@aol.com feel free to check with her directly. I forget at which site I found her but she has an online boutique, and I can vouch for her.
