Movies that don't suck

It's been what, a dozen years since that film came out? and I only ever saw it once that same year...but it's always the first flick that comes to mind when someone says "Recommend me a great movie."

I hadn't seen it since then either. We just watched Memento because my wife decided our daughter would love it. She did.

Also, just watched, (again) the Japanese, (original) version of the "The Ring"..just titled "Ring" in Japan. The Japanese do spooky very well. They understand Ghosts.

This reminded me of my favorite Korean monster movie: The Host
Must. See. Now.

YES. The Host is a great movie. Funny and horrifying at the same time.

Great list, but holy crap I love The Cranes are Flying. Takes me back to my russian lit studies and watching that movie for the first time as part of a soviet culture class. I think I know what's on tap for this weekend.

Just watched Fantastic Mr. Fox. A beautifully made gem of a film with a great cast. The stop motion animation is a sight to behold.

Also love Korean movies. Plenty of action but with more emotion and character development than western movies in the same horror/action genre. Check out Joint Security Area, beautiful story, same director as Oldboy.

I think the acting in Down By Law is on par with Star Trek: TNG but I absolutely love the cinematography.

'Another Earth' showed up on VUDU, it is fantastic.

Nebraska was good.

12 Years a Slave was excellent, but difficult to watch at times. Fantastic movie.

American Hustle is fantastic

Wolf of Wallstreet was also a great movie.

I found the Ghost & Mrs Muir (1947) on Netflix. Its excellent.
