Georg and Ulrich told us not to be too stingy with flux. We made some science around this postulated theory and invented the beer fixture. This fixture added reasonable value to our work. Beside the external flux we added a sufficient amount of internal flux to our working procedures, which keeps the hands steady and it helps to fix small parts when brazing
that right there is engineering brilliance.
Schwechater. that one was easy... for another Austrian ;-)

but thomas is quite busy these days, you have to ask for an audience
This was my third frame, built around late 2012. Reynolds 725 with once again stainless Llewellyn stuff. The frame features disc braking with internal cable routing and internal electrical wiring including some work based on ideas I saw on Tony Pereira's web site. At this time (two years ago) I did not trust my skills to be good enough to build a disc-fork which is save. Therefore I asked Ulrich to make me one.
I described the build of this frame on my web site in details. Here are some shots:
Bendixen drop outs with disc guard
Internal cable routing and platinum coated cable stopper (coating made by Michael)
E3 rear light with condenser (mounted in seat post)
but of course knowledge is not only gained via the internet.
so we organized several "educational journeys", mainly in combination with the annual l`eroica participation
when visiting the builders interesting working techniques could have been studied .. for example brazing with propane at quite high temperatures (vetta)

and two years ago, i visited Dario Pegoretti, but manly to see how my frame was created

at the Bespoked we got invitations from Faggin and also Columbus(!) to visit their workshop/factories
Many many congratulations to Pippo and the other guys of Selberbruzzler!! Hope you can come to our Austrian Version of Pegoraduno this weekend in Wachau ...i've send via pm to Pippo the mail of Advineas!!!
And remember, the hurried cat gives birth to blind kittens.
i have forwarded this years pegoraduno programm to our collective.
at least i will be there at advineas place on saturday.
see you soon!

At this stage of our evolution we are focusing on kids cycles
I started with this one in march
And here is a series of shots from the latest build. Michael finished a road racer for his son (6 years old)
His build uses the same drawing I have made for my 20incher.
rear build up (on a new fixture he finished recently) with our own dropouts
Mitering chain stays
Frame brazed
Seat boss self made
Ready for paint
Cranks
Michael opted for a used Shimano FC600 compact crank, where he shortened the cranks. Here is the sequence of the retrofit..
The source:
Holes drilled for the new thread insert
..and shortened
Bashguard
first fitting
and polished
Frame back from painting
maybe the best bike the selberbruzzler ever made so far (sorry noize ;)
the l'eroica project is also developing good, i am just to lazy for documenting here ...
but i vow to improve!
and here an update from my l'eroica frame:
frame is almost finished, only cantibosses and downtube shifter bosses missing.

these cool top mount guides are a must for our 'vintage' project:

what a surprise: the rear triangle is perfektly aligned :)
