Thought I would post this here. Had lunch yesterday at this local establishment. Their ribs are beyond good. Each year you can pre order a smoked turkey. I talked to the owner and he told me they did over 150 this year.

First time hosting at our new house with my new wife.

Turkey, my grandmother's gravy recipe, lasagna for my vegetarian son, stuffing, green beans, sweet and baked potatoes, stuffed mushrooms, olives, raw cashews, smoked almonds, apple and pumpkin pie, ice cream, brownies.

My parents and younger brother, my son Corey (my two daughters are both with their mom), Debbie's mom, brother, and son.

Oh and Grammie's dog OREo :)

First beer and wow it's a GOOD one...

More desserts in progress from my daughter, aka the "cookie factory". I just went outside for a few hours and raked leaves and let the experts take charge.

When we lived there, Thanksgiving was at the Hale Koa on Waikiki. Turkey, stuffing, poke, taku, haupia, just traditional stuff.

Despite my bad haircut, I can't get into that club. We did the Royal Hawaiian buffet for a couple of years, which was just an epic feast. Our get together of the past few years isn't happening this year as one of the couples is getting married next month on the big island and their family isn't in town this time around. We are doing a smaller get together at their place later on today.

I could eat poke every day and not get tired of it. Better than any dessert in my book.

Early report: the sushi rice stuffed in he cavity is a winner. You get the sweetness and the acidity from the vinegar, the smoke and the fat drippings. A do again. Next time will probably get some lemongrass, water chestnuts and garlic.

No food pics. Smoked one breast in apple wood, the other sage roasted in the oven. Smoked won. Mrs N handled the pies and in a way they all lost because they got destroyed.

Grateful for a nice peaceful dinner thanks to the other half of my friction-causing sibling inlaws being in OK for other family.

Trainer time shortly. 114 min while I cue up Hang 'Em High.

My sister hosted so all I had to cook was sweet potatoes. I get to host Christmas.

A friend brought me the Carcass from a fried turkey for my dogs. I boiled it down for a few hours and picked it clean.

The bones go to the raccoons, the meat goes to the dogs (very little with each meal) and the broth gone in the freezer. Being a fire turkey, the broth comes out dark and tasty!
