Then there’s this. At the opposite end of the scale of Nolan’s large canvas:

It’s been years. Thanks for the nudge, I’m going to watch it tonight.

A painful watching experience Sunday evening.
A friend recommended, "What's Eating Gilbert Grape".
For myself and my wife it was a very long painful experience.
I had to let out a primal scream when discussing the movie after.
I also wished it was a sunny day right then and there so I could take a soul washing ride.
This beats out "Forest Gump", in the total crap category.

Our friend lent us the dvd.
We haven't played a dvd in years, so paid to stream it.
If we are asked our opinion, I think our dvd ignorance will be our cover story.

    Your opinion may vary.

Went to see "The Zone of Interest" last night. I'd say it was very good (but IMO not great) and well worth the price of admission. Definitely a different take on the Holocaust.

Yeah, that's one for the weirdos (like me) who think a painful watching experience can also be a good movie. Not for everyone, or even most. I still consider it some of Leo's best work.

    Thanks for your take Dan.
    We agree on Leo's performance.
I really had no complaints about the acting, but the writing?
That's what I thought was Eating Gilbert and me alive.
