Saw this a while back. Looks like it's starting to pop up on mainstream media.

I had someone ask me about one the other day that has never even heard of Ducati.

These things are going to be pretty cool. If I was a rich man one would be in my garage once available.

A couple days ago a my wife's friend and Mom of my Kid's friend stopped by. My Duc was in the driveway. This woman is much greater than the sum of her attractive physical attributes, but the fawning over me and my bike caused a slight jealous reaction for a few minutes. Ducati's have powers. There is no doubt about that. Now if I could get it to stop leaking oil.

Seth, I love love love SRXs and yours is about perfect. I like the updated wheels and forks, plus the tail treatment looks great. I've had two of these in the past and am combing craigslist looking for a third while I kick myself for ever getting rid of what I had. Feeling jealous right about now...

I was really unaware of the SRX until I saw Seth's. How many could there be in the USA?

My understanding is that Yamaha brought them into the US for only one year: 1986, and around 1400 of them were sold here. Many of them have been raced to death, but I still see a few a year on ebay and you can usually find at least one for sale on craigslist at any given time (if you search nationally.)

I still remember seeing RZ350s and SRX6s sitting new next to one another on the showroom floor. IIRC msrp was around 2000 bucks.

I liked the RZ. The year they came out I saw a very young Kevin Schwantz mop up a field of them at Daytona in a RZ class.

I love... LOVE my Ducati Monster 900s. I made a few little mods to it here and there. It's one of those machines that will look beautiful 50 years from now. IMG_0685.png

Those things are wicked. I really think the design concept is worth going forward.

    I'm seriously contemplating a KTM RC390.

My buddy Gregor is building a 2WD KTM 950SE for RevIt using the knowledge he gained from doing his own over the past few years. You gear heads will like it.

He's the shooter for the RevIt catalog and you can see their progress here: REV'IT! all-wheel drive motorbike
You can see some behind the scenes stuff here: Rev'It! Doubles Down on #95 - ADVrider
and you can get sucked down the wormhole with this VERY long prototyping thread here: My 950 Refresh or Mission Creep... - ADVrider

I'm thinking this will be a bike in my future......

I took the baffle out of my akrapovic. Oh sweet baby jezuz it is LOUD. A little too loud. Looking for a happy medium solution.

I've also been riding all winter here in the PNW. Did a gnarly ride to the coast right after X-mas. Lots of rain and super cold coming back.
Never thought I would want heated grips until riding at 26 degrees.

Looks like the green light was given on these.

Will be interesting to see the final product.

Hopefully they don't stray to far from this design element.

Did the original poster ever get sorted out? I was going to suggest a 250cc Gas Gas for credit card touring, maybe the 300cc Raga Replica for longer trips. Braaaaaaaap.Screen Shot 2015-01-16 at 1.42.03 PM.jpg

On my stock SV650 exhaust, I shortened the whole can and kept the baffling (but shortened that as well). Not much louder at all, but lowered the tone considerably.

For heated grips, I actually found that wind deflectors/hand guards made more of a difference, but combining them with grip heaters (Oxford Heaterz) took comfortable riding well into the 20s.

This is the time to really put in the miles in Fla. This is my daily commuter. In December I was invited to speak to a group of Drug co Marketing folks in West Palm about Immunodefficiency and tell my story. I rode the Duc down. If first impressions are all that, I'm sure showing up with a helmet and leather jacket left a mark with how I think you should live with chronic illness. This shot was on my way home, I took the long road around Lake Okechobee before heading north.

Does anyone have experience with a BMW f650 funduro. This looks like a capable little bike to dome some back country camping for not much money.

Some of the CB cafe mods tend to be overdone but this treatment gives me ideas for the old CB360 that's been sitting in Dad's barn for 25 years. Something to fart around Ozark red gravel back roads with.
