I watched the new Frank Zappa movie last night. Well worth seeing.
Frank had a lot more going on in his music than most recognize.
He wrote some remarkable symphonic and chamber music.
He was full of ideas, completely self taught, and his life was completely driven by music.
One could have lots of fun exploring his work.

There is a song in the movie called Black Page, played on a piano. I want to hear more of this music. I see that there are several iterations on YouTube and it sounds like they are all different. Interesting to have a new door opened.

On WXPN out of Philadelphia, DJ Robert Drake's "The Night Before". 24 hours of xmas music from midnight to midnight, all of Christmas Eve on 24 December. A fantastic curated collection of so many different Christmas songs. He's been broadcasting it for years. Every year since I discovered it, maybe 10 years ago or so, I still get excited to hear it. You can stream it from https://xpn.org/, or just tune in to 88.5 in the Phila area or one of their affiliates. 88.7 in Central PA.

Nice timing! I've had the Freddie Hubbard version of this running through my head all week-especially on the bike. At first I couldn't place it-I knew the tune, but wasn't sure who had recorded it. It came back to me though. Great track.
