I assume that my clients have pretty high expectations for their new Winter bikes, and I try to show my appreciation my going above and beyond. My constant thanks to them!

I have a unique opportunity for a full kit Winter randonee bike. Due to health issues the client is unable to take possession and this one is on the market.

This bike is the full kit:
-Standard diameter tubes in thin wall, heat treated modern alloy.
-Classic "Japanese" style lugs with a fine color accent in the windows and crown.
-Internally routed generator lighting with a fender mounted tail light and Edeluxe II headlight.
-This one spins on White/ Schmidt hubs, 28h Pacenti 650b SL23's and Soma 42 (or Pacenti 38) tires.
-It was built with 6800 mechanical, While VBC cranks and has Paul Racer stoppers.
-Custom Winter stem with my French point treatment and bell mount.
-Custom front bag support with modular low riders and constructor style rear carrier.
-RuthWorks rando bag and French-style laced rear panniers made for this bike.

This one has a 61cm st, 57cm tt and a 11cm stem. It is shown with an 810mm saddle height.

The sun is out and we're having a bit of an early spring here. I've got road bikes on the brain lately. I love (LOVE) the rando's, but if you are hunting for something without fenders and with narrow tires I have a hankering.

This is going to be a pretty fun commuting bike. Once we had the functional details I asked the client if there was anything she was excited about with the metal working details or features. Her response was perfect- "I just want a Winter, and I know you'll make it nice!".

New "Galene" rando gallery up at Winter Bicycles!

“Galene”- named for the Greek goddess of the peaceful seas. This new Winter Bicycles randonee bike is destined for many miles of exploration in the maritime Northwest.



This one is designed for all year, all weather daily commuting with rando events and weekend tours.

As a side note- this one blew through the Rohloff/ Gates warranty stiffness tests. The guys at Spot (who administer the tests) warned me that some traditionally styled steel bikes falter- this one passed by "a wide margin" and still looks great and classic.

While I'm here- this is a little eye candy. This is for an existing Winter bike that went out with a stock stem to dial in the position. Now that the rider is comfortable he commissioned a fully custom option that includes the bell mount, brake hanger and a custom lamp holder for an Edelux II.

Ashley at Cycles Unlimited in Springfield, Missouri has ordered a few item from me to help finish off special builds for his clients. A recent customer had an inbound Guru ti touring bike made, and I build up the front end suite- custom fork to meet the build specs, bag support and low rider racks, and a bespoke stem with bell mount, hanger and open face plate.
