Surprised my wife with a very early mother's day present and she loved it, I scored major points.

Took the day off. 3 hour ride this morning. Going to pick up my new bike in a couple hours. Somewhere along the way I'll get something fun for lunch.
going to ride 2 miles from my door to some sweet singletrack. i like my new neighborhood and working from home sometimes.
seanile, my old neighborhood was stony brook. now that you are saving all that money on rent, are you going to buy Zach's IF? I'm guessing that is who you were meeting with. also, stony brook is as gentrified as it gets in JP nowadays.
heading home to visit the parents tonight, gonna go turkey scouting with my uncle, and new-to-me bike day was last night.
not saving it yet! that begins in July, and my funds are already set aside for a firefly and a meriwether. and nah, i was meeting up with a messenger friend, i bought his work bike (GT GTB) for cheap and am gonna get it repainted.
depends on where you're standing i guess, centre street and columbus/washington st are only a couple blocks away.
re: that new-to-me bike, another yay moment was that i got $30 off for it (the GT GTB) because the fella i bought it from thought he stripped the puller threads on the crank and didn't wanna work on it getting it off. so, naturally i trusted his competency and when i got home i immediately started at it with the hacksaw, then after 20 minutes i looked a little closer and realized that he'd merely just snapped the head of the puller off inside the crank, and that i just hacksawed a perfectly good crank arm. notably less effort on my end was nice, but coulda saved him the trouble of getting a new crankset if id noticed earlier.
Just found out a buddy bought an E36 to campaign in a 24 Hours of Lemons event in NJ in August. Pit crew!
"As an homage to the EPOdays of yore- I'd find the world's last remaining pair of 40cm ergonomic drop bars.....i think everyone who ever liked those handlebars in that shape and in that width is either dead of a drug overdose, works in the Schaerbeek mattress factory now and weighs 300 pounds or is Dr. Davey Bruylandts...who for all I know is doing both of those things." - Jerk
Despite some frustrating events right now, I get to take a break from it all and hit Fruita and Moab from Tuesday thru Sunday next week. The opportunity to go fell into my lap and was too good to pass up. We'll be camping out the whole time which is just a bonus of the trip. Of course, since I'm roughing it, I used points for the flight and went full Baller for the first class upgrade to/from Denver.

Made it to Friday. Good weather, little league, riding, easter eggs, and a leg of lamb on the grill: At least five reasons that grumps can suck it this weekend.

Reached a huge milestone in construction of my new house. Finally got enough completed to convert the stupid construction loan to a bona-fide mortgage. Now I can complete the rest at my own pace which means - more time to ride!
I'm hired. thanks!

My team just took spots 1 and 3 at Winston-Salem, and through the miracle of the internet I got to watch it all from my couch.
Enough said.

Hey I know it's not Friday but I can go the rest of this week feeling content with accomplishment - because this morning I caught a mouse from under the sofa in the basement with my handy grabber tool, then proceeded to fling & release said mouse about 60ft over the back fence in one smooth graceful motion. It was beautiful. He bounced twice, and then ran into the woods. Wife is safe, I wear a cape, and that mouse has a pretty @#%!ing good story to tell his friends.
Hat tip to Alice the cat for being my spotter.
Leaving work at noon. Riding for three hours. Not thinking about tomorrow.
Received my gabba SS jersey in fluo yellow. Looks like a nice piece of kit!
PS: no more rain forecast for the sunday race though...
My problem child employee announced his retirement, I will now get back ten hours of my work week, so I can spend more time on V-Salon :)
