That’s a beautiful bike. I’m intrigued by this fork. Are close-ups in the works?

Nice! I’m also digging that fork. Is that a box crown with a 7 deg rake built into it?

I'm pretty sure they are the Honjo H30 at 41mm wide - plenty of room under the TRP GR957 brakes with 28mm tires, could probably go up to 30mm or so.

I’ve fit Strada LGG 700x30 under Berthouds of the same width. It’s great until you pick up a wet leaf.

I should not be planning my next bike already but I already know it’ll be built around those TRP brakes and S&S couplers. Hampco is on the very short list.

I love those brakes but I must confess S & S sales have fallen off a cliff in the past five years. I blame airlines making it difficult to fly with bikes and destinations making it easy to rent same. But we can have that discussion when the time comes.

True enough. I sold my coupled bike when our twins were born, because: twins.

But with my in-laws across the pond, I think if I order another custom frame I’d consider couplers just for optionality. If we only ever visited them at their home I’d buy a cheap aluminum bike and keep it there but we tend to meet up elsewhere for vacations. Rental cars that fit three kids and multiple car seats in Europe are screamingly expensive as it is.

The other option is bikeflights or renting.

Latest blog post here - https://hampsten.blogspot.com/2022/0...-for-diet.html

Tl;dr version: prices going up slightly, Maglia ROSA going away, MAX tubing "reassigned" to other models, more steel forks.
